Contractor Checklist

Are you hiring a contractor?

Our checklist will help you narrow down your search.

Hiring a Contractor can be overwhelming. With our checklist, you can feel comfortable choosing a contractor that best suits your needs.

  • License- Make sure that the contractor you’re considering is a licensed professional. Look them up on the Contractors State License Board. Licensed and Insured contractors will have General Liability Insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance, and a State Issued License.
  • Experience- When hiring a contractor, you want to hire a reputable professional. An experienced contractor can help you with choosing quality materials and keep up with the latest trends in the industry. Ask for references when hiring a contractor.

  • Preparation- Contractors with experience know the correct way to prepare your surface for the work that will be performed. They will not take shortcuts in the preparation and this will ensure quality.

  • Written estimate- A professional painting contractor provides their clients with written contracts and specifications. They include the cost of materials, labor, and any other charges. The cost needs to be discussed upfront so there aren’t any surprises for either party.

  • Warranty- Is the contractor you’re interviewing offer a warranty on their work? Manufacturers offer a warranty on their products and contractors should specify the details of their written warranty.

  • Cost- Hiring on cost alone isn’t always the best bet. Low priced bids may not always be the best quality. Being comfortable with the price is always good but one also needs to factor in the quality of the job.

  • Multiple Estimates- It is smart to shop around with at least 3 different contractors. You can see which one offers the best quality, warranty, and style of work that you are looking for.

  • Ask Questions- Asking questions can help you be comfortable with the contractor and they can help find solutions that fit for your project.

Paint-It-Forward 2017

What is Paint-It-Forward?

Paint-It-Forward is a charity program that was founded ten years ago by Joshua Ambrason in Los Angeles California. It helps families and nonprofits in need of a paint job that for some unfortunate reason cannot afford it. Since completing the first painting job ten years ago many painting contractors across the US and Canada have taken Paint-It-Forward to their communities and have reached a goal of over $1,000,000 worth of free painting services and materials. Sunwest Painting has joined the movement; we know that there are hundreds of families and non-profits in desperate need of a paint job and we want to help! We are giving away a $3,500 paint job to a deserving family or nonprofit org in our community. We are excited to transform, beautify, and give back to our community by giving away this paint job.

Home Improvements Made Easy

$550

Does a complete home renovation sound like a big project?

Well, it certainly is. Many home remodels take months of planning, budgeting, and hiring contractors. It takes time to choose colors and the design of what you want. Many people put off their projects because it is a lot of work. If this sounds like you, we can help.

Benefits

Our Painter for a Day Program is ideal for smaller home improvement projects you’d like to have completed. Many of our clients that hire a painter for a day choose to have a standard sized room painted or an accent front door. Touching up high traffic areas makes all the difference. You choose what you’d like to have painted.

You don’t have to remodel your entire home at once. Taking smaller steps can help with your sanity and your budget.

It is as easy as just giving us your address and one of our technicians will go and do the work.

Hire a Painter for a Day to have your home improvement projects made easy.

Note:

We have handymen on staff and we not only paint, but we can install shelves (For your dream closet), install a barn door or just about anything you’d like. These are just examples, we’ve even installed pet gates with custom steps for them.

*Painter for a day includes up to (7.5) hours of labor of painting services. The painter must take 2 breaks of 15 minutes or combined 30 minutes. Painter for a day cost includes labor and basic materials. Clients will supply paint. Painter for a Day does not guarantee a finished job. Up to two hours of additional labor may be purchased at $90.00/hour. Full cash payment to be made upon completion of the painting. How to Caulk Properly

Everything around us is constantly moving and your walls for example are no exception. Prevention control is a great concept to keep in mind when thinking of the different weather conditions slowly taking a toll on your home. If you are looking for caulk that you can use on more specific things, like an RV, then you should click here for a more specific review. Simple and sometimes inexpensive steps such as a good caulking job can make a great deal of difference. Caulking helps seal cracks and joints inside or outside of your home, the same cracks that if let be, will allow internal moisture to accumulate and may just be your home’s potential worst enemy. Water seeping to the inside of walls and other small spaces regardless of how small it may be can lead to bigger more costly problems not to mention the seemingly hidden mold build up. Read more
